Val Thorens Sensations France

We have spent a great week at Clubmed Val Thorens. We are committed Clubmed members with 20 years of experience going to various sites.

What was great about the stay:

1. Food. Food quality, variety (always a good selection of fish, meat, poultry and vegetarian) and haute gamme (oysters, langoustines, bulots, racklettes, fois gras, local cheese and charcuteries), fruits and more than 5-6 different desserts to choose from. The team of cooks and waiters was very welcoming, fast and nice in servicing. Big thanks to them!

2. Transfer. Well arranged, easy, good value.

3. Skis. We booked the ski and boots in advance by filling in the form, everything was already in the lockers - 5 people had nothing to change, all was just perfect. No need to queue and waiting a ski shop, no need to queue at ski pass office either - everything ready waiting for you. Ski in from three different routes (third with a bit of walking), ski out - accessible for a beginner after 2-3 days of learning. During bad wheather Val Thorens gets cut from Meribel / Courchevel, worth noting if all three valleys is a must. In this case may be better to pick Meribel as a place to live.

4. Room. Big, clean, warm, no issues with water.

5. ESF. Free classes according to levels, beginners groups a bit overcrowded, but easy to book private lessons since the ESF desk is inside the hotel.

6. Support from the Welcome Team for great members - Méné was always online, ready to answer questions and support with requests. We felt really taken care of mindfully and with dignity.

What needs a bit of work: dear reception and boutique staff, be nicer to clients. We are not a nuisance.

Este ClubMed é a melhor opção para níveis intermediários e avançados de ski e snowboard: é ski-in/ski-out e o ski resort tem 169 pistas! Ótima opção para adolescentes.
O ClubMed tem pontos a melhorar em comparação com outros em que já estive: não tem piscina aquecida e a jacuzzi é paga e fica no bar (!); o WiFi é muito ruim nos quartos; a área social parece bem pequena (ou o espaço está mal aproveitado) e o traslado de chegada foi realmente caótico, com uma pessoa chamada Sônia tentando aplicar um golpe de pagar novamente em brasileiros que não falam inglês enquanto as GOs do ClubMed (muito inexperientes) só olhavam sem intervir.
Pontos positivos: GOs muito simpáticos e atenciosos. Destaques para Méné do atendimento ao cliente, Marine e todo o time do restaurante, inclusive o Sommelier. O jantar na adega do restaurante de especialidade foi o ponto alto da nossa confraternização com amigos (9 pessoas). A equipe da loja de ski também merece os parabéns por deixarem todo o equipamento pronto no locker. Os quartos são bem espaçosos.
A pequena cidade de Val Thorens fica a uma distância a pé do ClubMed e tem muitas lojas, restaurantes, spa e principalmente baladas bem agitadas para jovens adultos.

This Club Med is an excellent choice for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. It’s truly ski-in/ski-out, and the resort offers 169 runs, which makes it a great option for teenagers.
That said, there are a few areas where it falls short compared to other Club Meds I’ve stayed at. There’s no heated pool, and the jacuzzi is not only paid but also located next to the bar (!). The Wi-Fi is extremely poor in the rooms. The social area also feels quite small (or at least badly laid out). Most disappointing, the arrival transfer was genuinely chaotic: a woman named Sônia attempted to scam Brazilian guests who don’t speak English into paying again, while the Club Med GOs (who seemed very inexperienced) stood by and did nothing to intervene.
On the positive side, the GOs are consistently friendly and attentive. Special thanks to Méné from Customer Service, Marine and the entire restaurant team, including the sommelier. Our standout experience was dinner in the wine cellar of the specialty restaurant, which was the highlight of our gathering with friends (9 people). The ski shop team also deserves recognition for having all our equipment prepared and waiting in our lockers. Finally, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Val Thorens itself is a short walk from the Club Med and offers plenty of shops, restaurants, a spa, and, most notably, lively nightlife that’s perfect for young adults.

Wonderful stay with spacious rooms and facilities, delicious food options especially the dessert spread, and a well-stocked bar. The self-contained resort and ski-in, ski-out access made it effortless and relaxing

One of the best family holidays you could ever have. Ski lifts for the Three Valleys, and graded lessons with ESF, included for each guest. Great range of food in the buffet - the breads and the deserts were some of the best we’ve ever had. Entertainment and lounge area on level 4 is large but still cosy with lots going on all the time to just chill after skiing or to dance through a late night party. Lunch and music / dancing down at the ski-in-ski-out area was so much fun. Boris and his team were all absolutely amazing - we were there for Christmas and the team made it so special. In short, we absolutely loved it.
