Cherating Beach Malaysia

We had an enjoyable stay at Club Med and truly appreciated the warm hospitality of most of the G.Os, who were very friendly and helpful throughout our trip. The facilities and activities were excellent, and overall the experience was positive.

That said, I would like to share a few small areas for improvement. Housekeeping visited daily and kept the room tidy, but drinking water and fresh towels were not automatically replenished. Towels left on the floor were also not replaced unless we specifically requested. For the premium price paid, I feel it would be more convenient if water and towels could be refreshed daily without needing to ask.

In the restaurant, most of the staff were polite and attentive, but I did encounter two small incidents that could be improved. On 30 August, I was taking Korean fried chicken that was already prepared in bowls, but a staff member told me in a less friendly tone not to do so. On 31 August, when I requested only duck meat without side dishes, another staff member responded in a way that felt somewhat mocking. These were isolated cases, but they stood out because the rest of the G.Os were consistently warm and welcoming.

Overall, we still very much enjoyed our stay, and I share this feedback in the hope that it can help further improve the already wonderful Club Med experience. With small adjustments to housekeeping routines and consistent staff training in the restaurant, the stay would be truly perfect.

Mum and I had such a wonderful first stay at Club Med Cherating – truly one of our most memorable trips and we had such a quality time together.

Mum loved the intermediate/advanced tennis classes with Coach Bryan, who was patient, passionate, and made every session fun. She also tried rock climbing for the first time with Isaac and Niki, who were super friendly and encouraging to finish to the top, and we had a great sailing experience with NIK, who kept things safe but exciting. I really enjoyed Pascaline’s yoga and Pilates classes, which were both challenging and relaxing.

The GO team made the trip extra special – Bryan, Mad, Nazmi, MO, Juan, and BOD were all so sweet and welcoming. Juan’s knowledge of botanicals was fascinating, and SHEN and Poppy at the bar was always fast, attentive, and served great drinks. The security guard greeted us daily with a smile, which we appreciated. A special thanks to MO for the kind farewell at the end of our stay to make sure we caught out transport.

The food was varied and delicious every day, and the circus show was a real highlight – so fun and unforgettable.

Overall, we had an amazing time and we are sure to visit Club Med again. Huge thanks to all the staff for making our holiday so memorable for mum and I.

Club Med Cherating has several highlights, especially enthusiastic staff service and spectacular evening shows, but chaotic water sports management is a major drawback.

Terrible Water Sports Management: No one called names from lists, chaotic scenes, staff shirked responsibility
Poor Theater Flow: Crowded entrance prevented seating despite available spots
Corporate Event Impact: Yoga moved to ant-infested lawn, large dining tables mostly reserved

✅ Recommended for: Those who enjoy entertainment shows, families with children
❌ Not recommended for: Travelers primarily seeking water sports experiences

I joined to the teensclub, and I joined so many activities. I went to beach with my group mates and Angela guided us. She is so kind to us and always caring us. I made some friends and, we enjoyed time together. I’m so happy to make special memories with my new friends and Angela.

We stayed at Club Med Cherating and my teenager really enjoyed the Teen Club. Angela was fantastic – she was fun, friendly and made sure everyone felt included. The kids always came back smiling and excited for the next day.

It made a big difference to our trip knowing the teens were happy and busy with activities. Angela really stood out and we’re very grateful for her energy and kindness. Would definitely recommend for families with teenagers.
