⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review of Club Med Cherating Beach

This was actually our first time visiting Club Med Cherating, even though we live in Kuantan, only about 45 minutes away. We came as a large extended family group, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience for everyone.

Overall, it was an amazing stay. Considering the resort is already more than 40 years old, it is very well maintained. We were really impressed by the sheer size of the property, the lush natural surroundings, the beautiful scenery, and the peaceful atmosphere throughout the resort.

The rooms are admittedly a little dated, but it honestly didn’t bother us much. There were so many activities, sports, programs, and dining options that everyone stayed busy throughout the day, and we usually only returned to the room late at night to rest.

The food was very good, with a wide variety of choices every day. The free-flow drinks and alcohol were also a nice bonus. What really stood out was the staff — they were incredibly welcoming, talented, and full of energy. They made us feel like we were part of a big family.

Another thing we really liked was the international atmosphere. The staff come from many different countries, and there were also many international guests staying at the resort, so it almost felt like we were enjoying a relaxing holiday overseas.

The sports and activities were fun and well organized. Since we visited during the quieter season (after Chinese New Year and during the Ramadan period), there were very few queues, which made the experience even better.

It was truly a memorable trip for everyone in our group — from the elderly to the adults and the kids. Even after so many decades, Club Med Cherating is still considered one of the best resorts in Malaysia.

We were a little sad to hear that the resort will be closing at the end of this year for a major renovation, but we will definitely return in the future and look forward to experiencing a refreshed and renewed Club Med Cherating.

By flight - Kuala Lumpur → Kuantan: 40 minutes minimum (direct flight)
