Resort 
The Resort
The Island of Bintan to the south of Singapore is full of history, marked by fallen empires and the spice trade.
Its tranquil bays were long used by the Orang Laut pirates as a refuge. This is the site of the Bintan Island Club Med Resort, a haven of tranquillity and refinement combining modernity with Asian tradition.
From the terrace of the Panorama Bar, lapis-lazuli blue, mother of pearl and emerald hues are a feast for the eyes, from the overflow pool to the lush gardens.
The Bintan Island is also a golfer's paradise, with some of the finest courses* in Asia nearby.
Parks & Gardens
The gardens have palm trees and numerous species of tropical plants. There are ornamental lakes, and a magnificent waterfall that flows into the swimming pool.
Beach
The two and a half kilometre (one and a half mile) stretch of fine white sandy beach is public, but access only via the Club Med Resort. A haven of peace, just a stone's throw from the Club.
The beach has deckchairs, parasols, showers and a bar.
No lifeguards present.
